What is a Miniature American Shepherd?
Miniature American Shepherds were previously known as Miniature Australian Shepherds, Mini Americans, and Mini Aussies. In 2012, Miniature American Shepherd, became an officially recognized AKC breed and allowed our dogs to compete. Our Mini Americans are very similar or “typey” to their heritage of Standard Aussies, except smaller size. The BONUS is that our dogs weigh from low 20’s to mid 30 lb range and stand in height 13″ – 17″ for females and 14″ – 18″ for males.
Where are you located?
We actually have two family kennels. We have a place in Kansas City, Missouri and a Kennel in Vancleave, Mississippi.
I’d like to purchase a puppy, what do I do next?
Once you are positive one of our puppies would be the perfect fit for you and your family, it’s best to ask me any additional questions you may have about the breed. It's much easier if you list out all of your questions so nothing is forgotten during our chat (it happens!!) I then recommend placing a deposit on the puppy of your choice to hold her.
How do I place a deposit and how much is it?
The price of a puppy deposit is $250, depending on the puppy. We will send you a deposit contract and once it is filled out will will email you an invoice to pay for the deposit.
Do you offer a puppy health guarantee?
Absolutely! We do health testing on our dogs to ensure we only produce the healthiest puppies. We offer a 2 year health guarantee against genetic defects, as all good breeders should. This may include serious eye defects, deafness, or hip dysplasia.
What is included with the purchase of my puppy?
Your puppy will have her tail docked, dew claws removed, microchipped and be current on all vaccinations & worming. A shot record and a puppy care package will also be included. Everybody gets a vet check before leaving our home, to ensure you are getting the happiest and healthiest puppy possible!
Do you offer shipping?
Shipping is an option. The typical price for cargo shipping within the US is $375. That fee includes a vet check, a health certificate, puppy carrier and a plane ticket. All puppies must be paid in full prior to making shipping arrangements. We offer pet flight nanny service. International puppy owners can be put in contact with our pet nanny.
Will my new puppy be registered?
Yes, of course! We register with the American Kennel Club (AKC) and a few of our dogs are
dual papered. Please see our puppy purchase agreement for more specific details.
What if I’m not able to care for my puppy in the future?
In the event you are no longer able to keep your dog, we ask that they come back to us. We do not want any of our babies bouncing from home to home or possibly end up in a shelter. Please know they are always family here!
HOW DO I KNOW IM NOT BEING SCAMED?
Call us! We would love to talk to you. We know many websites look legit and turn out not to be. We recommend talking to any breeder when interested in a puppy. If no one will talk to you, that is your first sign you might be scammed. We also can give you references and other verifications to help reassure you that we are here to help you have a great experience and find your new best! Finally, check us out on social media..... you can see the pulse of our years of business there! Scroll around and see who we are!
WHAT WILL MY PUPPY COST?
Our puppies sell for $1000 dollars whether they are male or female. That cost includes the puppy docked and dew claws removed, current on ALL vaccinations, current on a worming schedule and AKC registration. You will also receive a puppy package with food, toys, treats and helpful tips for training.
WHEN CAN I PICK UP MY PUPPY?
Because the health of your puppy is very important to us, puppies cannot be handled or picked up until they receive their last set of shots at 8 weeks. Once they are 8 weeks they will be ready for pick up!
